We have now forged links with not only Poland, but also schools in Germany and Portugal. Over the next three years there will be pupil/staff visits to all three countries to work on special projects. We have also entered into partnerships with schools in Norway, Italy and Lithuania, but these are more likely to develop into Teacher exchanges, rather than pupils. We have so much to learn from each other.

During the month of June sixteen pupils and nine staff went on the annual trip to Tczew in Poland for the Wonderful Theatres Compositions. The staff and pupils worked on a specially created performance using musicians and dancers. The piece looked at music from Japan, involved a power point presentation about the school and also a samba dance section. This year we received a special commendation for the way pupils and staff worked together in the performance and received the TVP Prize (Polish Television similar to BBC). All the pupils and staff had a wonderful time and worked really hard during the week.

In September we had confirmation that the British Council Socrates Comenius fund had given us funding for two projects. The first is a three year project with pupils and staff from Germany, Poland, Portugal and Trinity. We are working on a project entitled 'communication without words'. At the end of September we attended a meeting in Portugal to discuss the project and how it will work. There will be a number of pupils coming over from the school in Germany to spend time with us. A small group of pupils will act as ambassadors from Trinity when they visit the school in Germany to work with some of the pupils on key activities and work shops. All schools intend to meet in Witten in Germany in September 2007 to take part in a circus Big Top experience.

The second Project will be 'Ethical Codes of Conduct'. This project is a staff based project looking at how staff act in an ethical way. We are looking at working towards the 'Investors in People Award as an element of this project. In November three staff will be visiting Germany to attend a Conference. We will keep you updated on both projects as they develop.
